What she actually does

You tell Lumie how the day went. She keeps the record, works out what is repeating, and is there to answer when you want to ask about it. Nothing below is behind a paywall unless it says so.
Predictions that admit what they do not know
Up to twelve past cycles, weighted so the recent ones count most, and shown as a range rather than one confident looking date. Without enough history she says she is still learning instead of inventing one. She also shows you how far out she has been.
She remembers, and she answers
What you logged yesterday, what happened at this point last cycle, the symptom you keep getting on day three. Type it or say it out loud, in English or Hinglish, and it is one conversation either way.
Let someone in, on your terms
A page for your doctor, and a card for someone close to you with five switches you hold. Linking and the encrypted conversation are free, and pausing takes one tap with nothing to confirm.
The first five minutes
Six questions, then it is yours.
Setup asks what it needs to make a first prediction and nothing else. No email, no phone number, no account. You can add one later if you want your history to survive a new phone, and you can skip it forever if you do not.
What we ask
When your last period started, roughly how long your cycle runs, how long it lasts, what you are here for, and whether you use birth control. That is the whole form.
What we do not ask
Your name is optional and stays on your phone unless you turn cloud backup on. There is no email field, no phone number, and nothing that tries to identify you.
What happens next
You get a first prediction straight away, with an honest confidence level attached, and it sharpens every cycle you log. Everything is on the phone until you decide otherwise.
The colour system
Four colours, and they hold still.
The calendar you just looked at is colour coded, and those colours are fixed. They do not shift when you switch to light mode, and they do not shift when you pick a different accent for the app, so a colour you learned once keeps meaning the same thing.
Period
The days you are bleeding, and everything you logged on them.
Follicular
After it ends and before the fertile window opens.
Ovulation
Your fertile window. Hidden entirely on a method that suppresses ovulation, rather than guessed at.
Luteal
The run-up to the next period, and where most symptom patterns show up.
Privacy, structurally
We built it so we could not look even if we wanted to.
Your name is not your key
Your data is filed under a one way hash your phone never sees and never computes. There is no email column, no phone number, no address book. We cannot look you up by name, because the name is not in the shape of the data.
Nothing leaves until you say so
Cloud backup is off until you switch it on. Lumie's use of your context is a separate switch again, and turning it off keeps everything on the phone.
Deletion means deletion
One tap removes every row keyed to you and the account itself. You can do it from this website, without installing anything.
Messages we cannot read
If you open a conversation with someone close to you, the two phones agree a key between themselves. What reaches our database is sealed bytes, so there is nothing here for us to hand over or scan.
